The third photo here pictures the Litomysl Organ console
and me sitting on the bank. The photo was taken during the visit of the
organ when we tried to determine if the organ is suitable for recording.
Everytime I want to sample an organ I first visit the place and make some
preliminary observations, samples. This is what is seen on the picture. I
make the "noise level" measurement: recording some quiet stops together with
the blower and ambient noise which may be analyzed afterwards in the studio.
If it turns out to be successfull and the noise level is not particularly
high we decide that the organ is suitable for recording.
Of course, the noise level is not the only characteristics we measure but it
is very important one.
